September marks harvest season in the Skagit Valley. Fall festivals are back, welcoming the change of the season through annual traditions and local food events, and cozy activities are around every corner. It’s time to welcome colorful fall leaves, community celebrations, and culinary experiences in Skagit Valley this September!

Festivals and Events

Foodies, this is your month! Head to the Skagit Tidewater Boil – an annual seafood feast – or the Skagit Farm to Pint FEST – La Conner’s annual craft beer festival – to taste the seasonal flavors of the valley.

The Annual Fall Garage Sale brings 200+ antique vendors, a car show and live music to the Skagit County Fairgrounds.

The SWIFT Center in Sedro-Woolley welcomes the Skagit Symphony for the final installment of its summer concert series! With new music debuting, along with popular favorites for everyone to enjoy, it’s a can’t miss event.

If high tea and a good movie sound like your perfect evening, you’ll want to head to Sedro-Woolley for Willowbrook Manor’s Woolley Tea + Sheep Detectives Event! Tickets include Woolley Tea at Willowbrook Manor and admission to the film at the Concrete Theatre.

B’Town Fall Fest returns with a weekend of family fun. From food vendors to a petting zoo to zucchini car racing (yes, you read that right!), there’s plenty of ways to join in on the fun.

Festivals and Events

A New September Flower Festival Brings national growers back to the Valley. The Dahlia House invite’s flower lovers to the Valley for Skagit’s flower season September 3–6. The Festival brings together nationally recognized flower growers, educators and dahlia breeders for 3 days of learning, collaboration, and enjoying the breath-taking late-summer flower fields. Speakers are coming from across the country include some of the most respected voices in specialty cut flowers, dahlias and zinnias.

At the end of the month,The PNW’s largest motorcycle rally, Oyster Run, is back for it’s 43rd year, bringing hundreds of bikers to downtown Anacortes. If you don’t bike, go for the live music and great food!

Markets

It’s still market season in Skagit Valley! Browse local produce, handmade goods, art and more at the La Conner Vendors Market and Terramarket, or spend a day exploring the Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Burlington and Sedro-Woolley farmers markets. It’s a great way to shop local and enjoy the flavors and creativity of the Skagit Valley.

Outdoor Recreation

Hit the pavement at local runs like the Skagit Flats and Anacortes half marathons or join a community walk or fun run for a good cause. With scenic routes and events for all paces, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors this month.

It’s also the perfect month for hiking. Cooler September temperatures make it easier to enjoy the trails while taking in the same spectacular views as the summer months. And with orange and red leaves beginning to pop, plus the iconic “Larch Madness” season arriving toward the end of the month, you’ll want to bring a camera along!
