Festivals + Events

Begin the month at the Cinco de Mayo parade in Mount Vernon or visit the Skagit County Fairgrounds for a variety of festivals and markets.

The inaugural Anacortes Walk Fest is this month and is a great reason for walkers and hikers to plan a visit to Anacortes. More than just a hiking event, Walk Fest is a distinctive collection of over 25 outings that showcase the history, culture and the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The Anacortes Boat and Yacht Show is the Northwest’s spring boating destination, and it is back this year to display top boat brands, educational seminars and boat services.

Arts & Culture

The PN Opera will have performances this month at McIntyre Hall and The Skagit Symphony will be performing The Great British Music Show.

Be sure to check out museums and galleries in Skagit Valley that feature rotating exhibits, or visit monthly arts walks like La Conner Second Saturdays or Anacortes’ First Friday Art Walk.

There are wonderful arts markets as well as farmers’ markets this spring. Skagit Valley has some of the best agriculture in the world, so you will want to visit a farmer’s market to get a taste of local flavors.
