August in Skagit is full of events for everyone– there’s activities for the whole family, for the art lovers and those just looking to get out and enjoy community and summer fun.
Anacortes Arts Festival
The 64th Annual Anacortes Arts Festival returns this August to the shores of Fidalgo Island, the gateway to the San Juan Islands. Attracting around 80,000 visitors over the first weekend of August, the Festival features more than 220 booth artisans and a nationally acclaimed fine art exhibition.
This free, family-friendly festival offers two stages of live music daily, a vibrant beer garden and wine bar, and a dedicated youth area filled with hands-on art activities for kids. With art, entertainment, and stunning island views, the Anacortes Arts Festival is the perfect summer escape for those looking to experience the creative spirit of Skagit.
La Conner Classic Boat Car Show
The 25th Annual La Conner Classic Boat & Car Show is happening on Saturday, August 2, 2025! For a quarter of a century, this beloved event has brought together classic car and boat enthusiasts for an unforgettable day of craftsmanship, community, and camaraderie.
This year will be the biggest and best yet–an event you won’t want to miss! Expect an amazing lineup of classics, music, delicious food and drinks, and a festive atmosphere as a celebration of 25 incredible years!
Skagit County Fair
Mark your calendars! The Skagit County Fair is back and ready to bring four unforgettable days of summer fun to Mount Vernon on August 7-10! From carnival rides and live local entertainment to adorable farm animals and delicious food vendors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Cascade Days
On August 15th and 16th, the Cascade Days are happening in Concrete! This tradition dates all the way back to the 1930s– from a campaign to create a highway from Skagit County to Okanongan County. The highway is now called the North Cascades Pass or State Route 20. The early meetings held about this highway eventually turned into a celebration and that tradition continues to this day! Come celebrate in Concrete and enjoy the parade, concessions stands and food vendors, arts and crafts stands and a car show!
September
September events in Skagit County are extra fun thanks to crisp weather, harvest festivals, and scenic fall colors. From beer festivals to harvest festivals, it’s a perfect time to celebrate the sweet transition from summer to fall.
Brewfest on the Skagit
The historic Lincoln Theatre has officially passed the torch of BrewFest on the Skagit to the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. Set along the scenic Skagit River, this year’s event will feature craft beer, cider, and wine, delicious local food, live music, and laid-back lawn games.
Performances will be by The Chris Eger Band and Eden. And even better– every ticket sold will benefit the Lincoln Theatre Foundation, ensuring that live music, film, and vibrant community events continue to flourish in downtown Mount Vernon all year long.
31st Annual Fall Garage Sale
Looking for unique items, great food, and local music? Come to the 31st Annual Fall Garage Sale, Antiques, Crafts and More on September 19-20 at the Skagit County Fairgrounds. Visitors can shop through over 170 vendors, grab some delicious food, enjoy live music, and on Saturday only, there will be the 11th Annual Car Showdown.
Skagit Tidewater Boil
Join friends, family, and farming neighbors at Genuine Skagit Valley’s 2nd annual Skagit Tidewater Boil on September 25 in La Conner. This is perfect for seafood lovers, or anyone who wants to try the flavors of Skagit Valley in a mouthwatering feast of Dungeness crab, spot prawns, Skagit-grown corn and potatoes, andouille sausage and much more. The food is catered by The Skagit Table, and the meal comes from community- based cookbook Genuine Skagit Cooking, which features recipes from local Skagit residents, food producers and small business owners.
B’Town Fall Fest:
Embrace all things autumn at B’Town Fall Fest, happening the last weekend of September at Skagit River Park in Burlington! This seasonal celebration is packed with festive fun for the whole family, including a kid zone, arts & crafts vendors, pumpkin painting , zucchini car building, pumpkin painting, delicious food trucks, and so much more.
It’s the perfect way to welcome fall in Skagit Valley—don’t miss out on this cozy weekend of community and fun!
Skagit Farm to Pint Fest
The much-loved Skagit Farm to Pint FEST, presented by the Port of Skagit, is making its return in 2025 in support of the Genuine Skagit Valley program.
This event brings together Skagit-based breweries and cideries, each offering pours paired with delicious bites from local Skagit Valley restaurants. Your ticket includes 15 thoughtfully curated craft beer and food pairings, all celebrating the incredible flavors and ingredients grown right here in our valley. Make sure to clear your calendar for September 27 and head on over to the La Conner Marina!
Anacortes Bier Near the Pier
Raise a glass to one of Anacortes’ most beloved traditions—the 14th Annual Bier Near the Pier is back on October 3 and 4! This crowd-favorite beer festival delivers a perfect day of live music, food, and a wide selection of craft brews from both local and far- away breweries.
Set against the scenic waterfront, it’s the ultimate way to welcome fall. Tickets go on sale August 1.
Concerts
Skagit has a lot to bring to the table not only for its natural beauty, but for its music scene as well. Sway to the sounds of Skagit at these summer concerts!
Riverwalk Summer Concert Series
Get ready to dance or just sit back and enjoy the music at the Riverwalk Summer concert series, hosted by the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. There will be concerts every Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in July and August, starting July 10 and will feature a mix of local and regional artists. Anacortes Free Summer Concert Series
This concert series takes place at Seafarer’s Memorial Park on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout July and on Fridays in August. The lineup includes an array of fantastic Pacific Northwest bands. Bring your lawn chair, soak up the waterfront views, and experience the best of regional music in a vibrant community setting.

Skagit hosts tons of exciting sporting events that bring in fans and athletes from across the country. Here’s some events in the next couple months that sports lovers won’t want to miss.
Washington Rush Cup
Washington Rush, the official Regional Club of the North County Youth Soccer Association, is bringing the excitement to Skagit Valley! The Rush Cup is set to take place at Skagit River Park in Burlington on August 1- 3, welcoming youth soccer athletes from U8 to U19 for a weekend of high-energy competition, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.
2025 Adult Horseshow Tournament
The 2025 Adult Horseshoe Tournament is coming to Skagit River Park on August 23–24, hosted by the Washington State Horseshoe Pitchers Association!
With the 24 pits—one of the largest setups in the region—get ready for two days of competition and community at Skagit River Park at the horseshoe pits!
Skagit Flats Marathon
Lace up your shoes and head on over to the 48th Annual Skagit Flats Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K! Renowned as the flattest Boston qualifier in Washington, this race offers a picturesque route through the scenic Skagit Valley farmlands, finishing on the Burlington-Edison High School track.
With registration capped at 800 participants, secure your spot today for one of the state’s most beloved small-town races.
Bike MS
Bike MS is more than just a cycling event—it’s a movement dedicated to overcoming the challenges of multiple sclerosis (MS). Through its nationwide rides, the organization raises critical funds that fuel research, provide resources, and offer meaningful support to individuals living with MS.
One of the most scenic and inspiring rides of the year is the Deception Pass Classic, taking place in early September. Starting at the Skagit County Fairgrounds, this event offers a range of breathtaking routes that wind through the natural beauty of the Skagit Valley and beyond. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a weekend rider, you’ll find a course that fits your pace and passion.
HFV ValleyFest 3×3 Tournament
Mark your calendars for August 16–17, 2025, as Hoop for the Valley brings the energy to the Skagit Riverwalk with the 2nd Annual HFV “ValleyFest” 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament! This two-day event features over 150 teams battling it out on 16 courts, with divisions for all ages and skill levels.
The tournament is just the beginning—ValleyFest is a celebration of community spirit, complete with live music, delicious local food and vibrant energy.
All proceeds go directly toward Hoop for the Valley’s mission to ignite a love for basketball in local youth by providing scholarships and open gyms throughout Skagit Valley.
Oyster Run
Oyster Run is a motorcycle rally held each year in Anacortes, since 1981. The legendary rally has come to be known as “The Largest Motorcycle Run in the Pacific Northwest” with tens of thousands in attendance.
What started as a small group ride has transformed into a beloved regional celebration of motorcycle culture, drawing enthusiasts of all kinds to the heart of Skagit Valley.
