In Skagit Valley
Pumpkin Patches
Gordon Farms: Located between Mount Vernon and La Conner, enjoy some peaceful, misty fall days by visiting Gordon Farms. Open seven days a week from September 26th to October 31st, they carry displays of over 150 pumpkins and squashes.
Schuh Farms: Not only do they have fresh local produce and baked goods, but in October each weekend they will have a tractor train, barrel, hayride, and corn maze from 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.! Their corn maze is open daily along with their main farm store. Read more about their hours and activities here.
Valley View Farm Stand: You’ll find a fantastic selection of pumpkins in many colors and sizes. Butternut, acorn, spaghetti, delicata and buttercup squash to name a few – available the whole month of October!
Pleasant Ridge Farm: Pleasant Ridge Farm is a local gem offering top-quality, seasonal produce at great prices. It’s a great stop for visitors looking to experience the rich agricultural of our region—especially during the fall harvest season!
Hedlin Farms: A lovely local farm that produces about 30 crops of more than 100 different varieties for their La Conner farm stand, local restaurants, and wholesale buyers. They have a beautiful pumpkin patch to explore in the fall.

Anacortes
Bier Near the Pier
The 14th annual Anacortes beer festival everyone knows and loves, Bier Near the Pier is back on October 3rd- 4th! Enjoy a day of live music, delicious food, and refreshing beer from local and far-away breweries.

Haunted Forest
Step into the shadows this October for one of Skagit Valley’s most thrilling annual traditions—the Haunted Forest at Washington Park! At 6:00 pm, the trail transforms into a spooky journey, filled with suspense, dark corners and creatures lurking through the trees.
Guests are required to bring a flashlight or headlamp to guide their way through the darkened forest. While this event is recommended for adults and older children, everyone is encouraged to dress up in their costumes!

Anacortes Trick-or-Treat
Head to downtown Anacortes for some trick-or-treating! This is a safe, family-friendly event that is perfect for kids, teens, pets and adults! Bring your halloween candy baskets and come in costume for a night of laughter, treats and community tradition.

La Conner
Brew on the Slough
In the picturesque town of La Conner, Brew on the Slough is a vibrant annual celebration of craft brewing. It’s a must for beer lovers or anyone who just wants to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Swinomish Channel.
This event highlights the region’s craft beer culture, featuring a diverse range of brews from local breweries. It’s a lively gathering where community spirit thrives, with attendees enjoying not only the rich flavors of various IPAs, stouts, lagers, and experimental beers but also live music and delicious food from local vendors.

Art’s Alive
Art’s Alive, La Conner’s premier PNW fine art event, is celebrating its 40th year!
As a 40th anniversary look back, Art’s Alive is presenting the “LEGENDS” gallery including available artwork from past Featured and Invitational Artists from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000 to 2024. Art’s Alive’s rich history comes from Northwest Mystics, Heritage, and Contemporary fine artists, and over 50 of their works are available.
In addition, the Open Show gallery presents the work of 30 local and regional artists representing Art’s Alive’s future, as well as the past.

Sedro- Woolley
Scarin’ Up Some Fun Glow Run/ Walk 5k
Sedro-Woolley is Scarin’ Up Some Fun with this 5k! Join the spooky adventure through the trails on at the Northern State Recreation Area. The course will go around the buildings and barns. It will be spooky and there will be hazards so keep that in mind when considering bringing children and dogs.

Mount Vernon
Halloween Dance
Experience the magic of live big band music with Skagit Swings at the Halloween Dance! Get your groove on in October at the Mount Vernon Senior Center, and enjoy an unforgettable night of dancing, community, and timeless tunes.

Trick or Treat on First Street
Head to Downtown Mount Vernon for the Annual Trick-or-Treat, where families come downtown for a fun and safe alternative to neighborhood trick-or-treating. Bring your costumed kiddos (and selves!) and stroll around to grab goodies from participating businesses on Friday, October 31, 2025.
No worries if you can’t get there right at 4, trick or treating goes all the way until 6 so show up whenever you can!

Halloween Baseball Tourney
Impact Baseball Club is hosting a Halloween Tournament on October 18th at the Skagit Playfields! Get your team together and start coordinating your Halloween costumes because the team with the best costumes will win back their entry fee!

Festival of Family Farms
The Festival of Family Farms is all about touring local Skagit Valley farms at the peak of autumn’s harvest. Savor the bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, local shellfish, homemade jams and much more.
The festival takes place on 13 participating family farms located in Bow, Burlington, Concrete, Mount Vernon, Rockport and Sedro-Woolley. Many are just a short drive from each other. Bring your camera because it’s also a perfect time to take in the beautiful North Cascades Highway and the beautiful fall leaves.

Concrete
20th Annual Concrete Ghost Walk
This year is the 20th Annual Concrete Ghost Walk, an outdoor tour that invites you to explore the haunted hot spots of Concrete, WA! Every Saturday night in October, this unique experience blends history, local lore, and a touch of the supernatural as you wander through the dimly lit streets of our historic Town Center
Starting at the iconic 101-year-old Concrete Theatre, the Ghost Walk takes you on a captivating journey through the town’s eerie past. You’ll hear about the characters and events that have shaped the spirited community. From ghostly visitations to tales of love, loss, and the darker side of history, each stop along the way reveals the secrets of those who once walked the Concrete streets.

Halloween Trunk or Treat
Walk through the annual Trunk-or-Treat in Bear Square, where costumed volunteers will be on hand with their decorated vehicles. Businesses on Main Street will welcome trick-or-treaters, too. Free, safe fun for the family!

Burlington
Pupkin Fun Run 5k
Calling all four-legged, furry, tail-waggin’ friends! Leash up your well-behaved human and attend the FREE annual PupKin 5K Fun Run. Walk or run, this 5K is fun for everyone. Costumes are encouraged for both humans and their dogs, but not required. No pup? No problem! Anyone is welcome to join in on the fun.

Fall Foliage

And of course, you cannot skip the infamous Chuckanut Drive. The 22- mile scenic byway takes you along the coastline of Bellingham Bay, from Bellingham to Burlington — and the fall shades of orange and yellow make it just that much more stunning. Last, but definitely not least, is Larch Madness season in the North Cascades. There is a reason why so many people flock to see these golden Larch trees, whose needles become a bright yellow right before they shed. This typically occurs late September to early October. Some popular hikes to see them are the Heather- Maple Pass Loop and the Blue Lake Trail.
