Ferries - Visit Skagit Valley - North Cascades National Park to Farmlands to Salish Sea

Ferries

Travel Washington’s waterways. With destinations such as Orcas Island, Friday Harbor/San Juan Island, Lopez Island, Shaw Island and Sidney B.C., the Anacortes Ferry Terminal is your gateway to experience and explore the beautiful San Juan Islands. Traveling by ferry is by far the most popular option for island travel, so for those traveling by car, be sure to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled departure, 2 hours during summer and holiday weekends. Walk-on passengers should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to sailing.

While waiting for your ferry to arrive, take in the breathtaking views of Rosario Straight. Once your ferry arrives, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Take in the majestic scenery of forested shorelines, view the snow-capped North Cascades and Olympics Mountain Ranges, and maybe even see a playful orca whale breeching the water’s surface.

Washington State Ferries is the largest ferry system in the United States, serving eight counties within Washington and the Province of British Columbia in Canada. Our existing system has 10 routes and 20 terminals that are served by 28 vessels.
