Slow Food Skagit River Salish Sea

Slow Food is an educational organization that supports sustainable agriculture, local food production, heritage foods, and the pleasures of the table. Slow food promotes good, clean, fair food for everyone.

Slow Food Skagit River Salish Sea was formed by a small group of friends who felt the time had come to bring this international organization home to the Skagit Valley. In the application to Slow Food USA, the friends wrote, “We are so lucky. We have rich, fertile land and sea. We have historical, local food traditions from Natives, immigrants, and settlers. We have Slow Food minded food producers and educated food consumers. And we have a population comfortable with the pace and seasons of life. Slow Food belongs here.”
