Anacortes Earth Day

Anacortes Earth Day invites you to downtown Anacortes to celebrate our natural environment and our community. The event takes place on Saturday, April 20th, from 4:00 – 9:00. Commercial Avenue hosts music, dance, art, and educational activities between 4th and 9th streets. It’s free and everyone is welcome!

Procession of the Species

At 5:00, the Procession of the Species will wind up and down the middle of the street. Community members share their love for flora and fauna through handmade costumes seeking to inspire learning, appreciation, and protection of the natural world.

Luminary Light Parade

The event culminates in the Luminary Light Parade starting when night falls at about 8:00. Lighted reed and paper sculptures of animals, flowers, stars, and more parade down Commercial Avenue, captivating onlookers and beckoning all to be active participants in caring for our world.

Bands! Beer! Booths!

Starting at 4:00, Commercial Avenue hosts activities for everyone! You can visit four blocks of stations offering earth art making and educational activities. At the 9th Street Stage, ballroom dancers will beckon you to join them. Then, starting at 5:45, local rock bands Anacopper Road and Pension King and the Dependents will play while you quench your thirst at the Anacortes Brewery Beer Garden.
