skagit_eagle_festival_2015The Skagit Eagle Festival 2016 is a month-long celebration during eagle-watching season in Skagit County.  Activities take place in Concrete, Rockport and Marblemount every full weekend in January.

The Skagit Eagle Festival 2016 features a variety of free tours, walks, and educational programs where you’ll learn not only about these majestic birds, but also about a variety of wildlife and the beautiful areas along the Skagit River where they live or return each year.

Special presentations will teach you about a year in the life of an eagle, how to photograph wildlife and scenery, and much more. You and your family will have the opportunity to enjoy arts & crafts, wine tasting, river rafting, music, dance and a wide variety of other outdoor and indoor activities. Bring your camera, dress for unpredictable winter weather, and come join us for one of the most uplifting and entertaining events of the year!

Deep Forest Tours and Discovery Center

This forest tour during the Skagit Eagle Festival 2016 will take you deep into the 670 acres of old-growth forest of Rockport State Park at the foot of Sauk Mountain. Tours are 30-60 minutes. Let kids explore in the Discovery Center with crafts and interactive wildlife displays, books, and games while you warm up by the fire and enjoy popcorn and a beverage. Discover Pass or $10 Day Use fee is required to access the park. Tour & Discovery Center is free.

Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center

Learn about eagles, watershed issues, and local natural and cultural history through guided naturalist hikes, presentations, and the Nature Store. Guided hikes are at 11 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday.  The Interpretive Center will also be open the day after Christmas through New Year’s Day.  Come visit during the Skagit Eagle Festival 2016!

Skagit Eagle Festival 2016 Watcher Stations

Eagle Watcher volunteers can answer your questions about bald eagles, salmon, and the Skagit watershed. They’ll have binoculars and spotting scopes available for your use. Viewing stations are at Howard Miller Steelhead Park in Rockport, Sutter Creek at Milepost 100, and Marblemount Fish Hatchery. Marblemount Fish Hatchery is also offering self-guided tours. Free.

WILDLIFE HAYRIDE & CAMPFIRE
