Skagit River Salmon Festival 2014

skagit_river_salmon_festival_2014Join us for the Skagit River Salmon Festival 2014 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, September 6 for a FREE fun-filled festival experience for families. We have several exciting changes and additions in store for you this year!

First, we’ve relocated to a new venue—Waterfront Park at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge. This grassy waterfront park with snowcapped Mt. Baker towering in the distance creates an amazing setting to spend the day celebrating the mighty Skagit River and return of the salmon!

We have a terrific lineup of new activities and entertainment you won’t want to miss, with something for every interest—young or old.

Come watch the fur flyin’ fun of the Puget Sound DockDogs—the world’s premier canine aquatics competition. Utilizing a 40-foot pool, dogs and their owners from Washington, Oregon and Canada will compete to see whose dog can jump the farthest, highest and swim the fastest. It’ll be a thrill to watch these four-legged athletes compete for “top dog” honors.

We’re also introducing a Kidz Zone run by the Boys & Girls Club of Skagit County, with lots of energy-burning activities for the younger crowd to do. Providing smiles all around will be the clown team of Zig Zag & Ragz with their amazing twisted balloon creations and face painting art. And don’t forget to explore FIN the 25-ft migrating chum salmon. Climb inside and you’ll find a beautiful mural depicting watershed habitat and the animals that live there.
