If you’re looking for the perfect fall day trip from Seattle; look no further than the lovely Skagit Valley. Just an hour north of downtown; the Skagit Valley Harvest Loop has all the pumpkins, autumn leaves and hot apple cider you could want this season! Skagit Valley Birds of Winter 2020

Human movement may have been restricted this year, but birds are still migrating. When the snow geese begin to return to the Skagit Valley each year it’s as if old friends are coming to visit. Every year, I like to note the first day I see snow geese. In 2019 it was October 3rd. This year I was out of town when a friend texted me that they had started arriving – on October 1st, but I have not yet had the opportunity to see them. Just knowing they are arriving, though, is comforting. Soon I will hear them flying over my house.

The Valley has big open spaces to enjoy the beauty of fall and the cornucopia of the harvest.  Our favorite fall harvest are pumpkins!  From the Giant Pumpkin Contest to our fields of pumpkins, we have the perfect pumpkin for you! We know that your trick-or-treating will be a different experience this year, but carving pumpkins at home and displaying them is a safe tradition to continue.
