Level: 2
Distance: 7mi
Meeting: 9:15 AM
Director : Greg/Kristin Gilda

Getting to the Start

Leave I-5 at Exit 230. Follow SR 20 west. Left on La Conner-Whitney Road. Just as you enter La Conner take a left onto Maple. Right at Caledonia. Left at 3rd. St. S. Right at Sherman. Follow Sherman to the boat ramp and parking under the orange arched bridge.

Race Course

The course heads down the Swinomish Channel, west past Goat Island, around “Can C-1” (the green buoy), and returns to the start. If the weather is foul the course may be altered to a more sheltered area.

Early Start

9:45am early start for SUPs and any other boat that requests it.  Contact Greg/Kristin Gilda if you would like to be in the early start – especially if your boat speed is under 4mph.

Post Race

The 2015 post race soup’n’bread will be at the Shelter Bay Clubhouse after the race. To get to the Clubhouse, go back to Maple (the main road) and turn right. Head across the orange bridge, and take the first left into Shelter Bay. Tell the guard, if there is one, that you are with Sound Rowers. Follow Shelter Bay Drive about a mile as it goes down a fairly steep hill with a putting area and the marina on your left. Turn left just past the golf area. There should be plenty of parking adjacent to the clubhouse.
